Adopt A Senior Cat Month

posted Oct 3, 2017, 10:07 PM by Siva Ho
This month, we want to feature our senior cats that are just as adoptable and purrfect as the younglings. If you happen to be 62+ years old (or think you are a senior), you can even adopt a senior cat 8+ years old and we will waive the adoption fee.  We call it "Senior 4 Senior" and  this adoption program will help make your day so much brighter and give you the companion you so much deserve.

Of course, you will still need to follow our adoption process with an application, landlord approval and a plan for your kitty's future. Our foster parents and adoption counselors will help you find the best match and guide you through the process.

Now meet two of our kitty candidates:

Hi! My name is Hermione and I am a gorgeous red tabby girl about 13 years young. I figure things out quickly even though I don’t see too well. The vet says I am a healthy gal for my age. I only take two inexpensive supplements daily to help my eyesight. I am a quiet, gentle homebody who enjoys hanging out in a less-active home and snuggling on the couch.

Don’t count me out yet, though! I still have a lot of “inner kitten” in me too and I get a little goofy over catnip and cardboard scratchers. You can find me sleeping on the floor in a place where the sun hits – with my front paws curled together and classical music playing… doesn’t that sound peaceful?

I have always been an only cat in a quieter, adult home – so that is my preference. I don’t need a lot of space to roam, so a smaller home with a single level would be purrfect. Do you have a place for me to live my golden years? I’d love to meet you and make friends!

Cali Ann:

Cali Ann loves her people. Our sweet, mature adult (she is about 9 years old) will sit on our laps, sit near our laps, sleep near our feet and is generally anywhere people are. When we pet her (she loves!) she will raise her paw and touch your hand to remind you not to stop. Cali Ann is gentle and patient, loves to have water running for her drink (yikes! forget drinking out of a mere bowl). In her former life she was allowed outside to sit on the patio and might appreciate that now but she is NOT. NO. NEVER.
EVER allowed out at her foster location. She is slightly independent and can entertain herself – or sleep – for hours waiting for you to return. She loves to be brushed and with her dense short to medium hair it must feel so good! The one no-no is picking her up as she will turn into squirming jello in your arms. She is a small but compact kitty with a beautiful round head, shorter stout legs and shorter thick tail. Definitely British Shorthair in her genetics! We love this little girl – if you can love her too and provide a quiet environment we encourage you to apply to adopt.

For more information on meeting and adopting these kitties, please fill out the pre-adoption application. Your information will be forwarded to the foster parent for follow-ups and meeting arrangement.

The Adoption fee is $60 if you are not a senior citizen. The adoption fee Includes spay/neuter, microchip, worming and flea treatment, current vaccines, vet exam and free 30-day insurance offer. Hermione and Cali Ann are negative for FIV and FeLV.
