I recently represented an elderly gentleman in the sale of his home. His wife passed away very unexpectedly about 6 months ago. My client has moved to a retirement/assisted living community. Prior to moving, he was very distraught that the retirement living community would only allow 1 pet. My client and his deceased wife had a cat and a small dog. He chose the dog to take with him. Since kitty is 12- 1/2 years old, he worried that a shelter would be a death sentance for an older cat. Fortunately, the buyers who purchased my client's home were delighted to keep the kitty. Out of concern for kitty's well being, I told them if it didn't work out to please contact me and I would help find kitty a new safe and loving home. Yesterday I received a text from the buyers "We want to let you know that we really tried taking care of the cat. But we found out that my wife is pregnant and it would be very hard for her to keep taking care of the 3 year old, the future baby, and the cat when I'm deployed. My wife is on her first trimester and any type of strong smell makes her vomit. We were hoping you could take the cat like you said earlier. If there would be any problem you could take it." This kitty has always been an indoor kitty. I have a file with his medical history. He was due January 2019 for his annual vaccines which I am sure if she were alive, his owners of the last 10 years would have had done. This kitty was originally a rescue kitty from a shelter and adopted by my client's granddaughter. The granddaughter discovered after adopting the kitty that she was not allowed to keep him in the apartment she was renting. Consequently, grandma and grandpa took the kitty where he has lived the last 10 years as an indoor kitty. The only special need this kitty has is, due to bladder crystals several years ago, he is on a diet of food to prevent future problems of this nature. I only have one photo of kitty that was taken by my client's wife.

This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Your information will be forwarded to the owner for follow-ups and meeting arrangement.

Cat's Cradle is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue serving Oregon cats who need new homes. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the cats in our care. We invite you to become a foster parent and experience the great satisfaction of helping a cat or kitten in need.
