Have you ever wished that you had a cat who thought the world revolved around you (and your lap?) Miss September adores people and even with strangers is unabashedly friendly and affectionate. Purring mightily, as she gazes adoringly into your eyes, one can only wonder how such a uniquely affable and cute cat could still be seeking her "forever" home. The answer is that she has yet to find a home where she will be the only cat and undisputed queen of her domain. Miss September's origin follows. I recieved a call from someone I had helped before with the placement of kittens and was told that her neighbor had a cat in a trap and was going to get rid of her because she was fighting with their other cat. I took her and suggested some spay and neuter resources for the other cat. She was very pregnant and gave birth to 6 healthy kittens a few days later in my bathroom. She even called me in to watch. She was a very good mom, and I was able to find her kittens homes after they were vetted, but no one applied to adopt her. I hoped that in time after her spay that she may become more tolerant of other cats, but she continued to be very crabby about them and my place is very small. She busted one of her canine teeth, and I am pretty sure it happened when she ran face-first into a door trying to avoid the other cats. The remains of the root of the tooth were removed and she recovered. I built a catyard with a shed and heated bed so she could be away from the other cats, but she desperately wants more attention and a warm home with a human to call her own. She is a sweet and quirky cat. Interested in trying to eat almost anything and very responsive to petting. Occasionally she gets hiccups. She can become overstimulated from touch (belly rubs specifically) but this is fairly common in cats. Sitting on a warm lap for hours on end is her idea of a good time. She may take some time to re-acclimate to more civilized indoor living, but I am happy to help walk someone through that process. She may need to be kept in a smaller room with a litterbox and such at first to help ensure she remembers how to use one, then slowly introduced to a larger area with supervision. I am an experienced fosterer and rescuer and have made many successful placements. Getting Miss September into a forever home where she can live her best life as an "only" cat would make her a very happy girl. Almost everyone who meets her wants to take her home, but my friends all have cats already. As she currently resides in my humble catyard, she can be viewed in a low-risk setting by appointment.
