Sweet William came to us after spending nearly a year as a stray relying on the kindness of a lady who fed but could not adopt him. This loving and mellow cat is most comfortable with women, tending to shy away from men. We don’t know about any experience with children or with dogs. We estimate him to be about two years old.

It is clear that William was once someone’s pet, and is happy to leave his days on the streets behind him. Despite some initial shyness, William has adapted quickly to his new life in foster care and would love nothing more than a warm, quiet, cozy home to call his own. He enjoys being combed and sheds very little. While he’s still learning to be held and to settle down onto a lap (a blanket helps), he readily purrs when stroked, loves to snuggle and absolutely adores having his belly stroked. Go figure! Still, it’s always advisable to watch for signs of over-stimulation. William is happy to chase a laser dot and plays with his wand toy with gusto, but he doesn’t need constant entertainment. Oh, and do you like husky guys? William enjoys both dry and canned food, but maybe a little too much so. He’ll need someone who will make sure he’s not over-indulging his healthy appetite.

Does your home have a place for William? He might do well with another mellow cat. Certainly, however, a quiet “vibe” will be the purr-fect situation for him.
