About 3 years ago, a neighbor lady moved & left her 3 teen cats behind. At the time, Max & his siblings, Sadie & Charlemagne (Char), were left to the care of those of us living in the complex. I became responsible for their food, outdoor shelter, & Vet bills. For me, this has been a joy as Max quickly stole my heart. He’s very sweet, loyal, beautiful, charming, & has TONS of personality! Max is “polydactyl” which means that he has an extra toe on his front paws. This makes his paws look bigger than they actually are. Since I rent & have an indoor cat of my own, I’m unable to keep the cats indoors without being evicted. They have been living outside. Over the last couple years, Max has been in quite a few fights with other cats which prompted Urgent Care Vet visits. Recently, Max was in a fight which resulted in a small abscess over his left eye. I took him to the Vet the following morning. At the Vet visit, Max was assessed, given antibiotics, vaccines, had his ears flushed, & was treated for ear mites, fleas, & ticks. In addition, the Vet agreed to neutered him. When I came to pick up Max, the Vet informed me that Max tested Feline HIV+. I was very distressed over the news & knew that I needed to everything possible to find Max his forever home. This diagnosis isn’t a death sentence. In fact, Max can live a long & happy life with someone who is willing to provide him with a safe, loving, & nurturing environment - indoors only. At this time, my grandma has been kind enough to allow me to keep Max in her old office while he recovers from surgery. If you’re interested in becoming the parent to Max, you will never be disappointed. He’s truly the most majestic cat I’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to FaceTime with you so you can see Max yourself.
