Ash and Athena Jr.

Birthday: May 26, 2021

Mom (Athena Sr.) is a feral, but healthy girl that got pregnant too young, so she trusted me and my shed to watch her babies! Other than their first few hours of life they are indoor only. They enjoy being brushed, pet, and held and will crowd to the nearest human for snuggles. They’re extremely vocal and WILL let you know when they want cuddles and attention. You basically have to glance at them and they’ll start purring. They don’t seem to drink water from a bowl and will probably need a fountain.

Ash – brown tabby with white front toes and white back socks

Ash is a loving but stubborn girl. While she was just as energetic as her siblings, she did not want to wean until almost 10 weeks old! I think she enjoyed the extra attention of bottle feeding. As a result, she is EXTREMELY affectionate and will start purring before you even pet her and will roll over for tummy rubs almost immediately (see evidence from when they were 3 weeks old). These girls are confident and the perfect balance of affectionate and playful.

Athena Jr. – brown tabby

We refer to her as “Junior” partly so we don’t confuse her with mom and partly because she started off as the runt of the group, however she was an overachiever in all other ways! She was the first to open her eyes, first to walk, first to litter train, AND first to eat all by herself! Her weight quickly caught up to her siblings’ weights and she was roughhousing and play-wrestling just like everyone else. She is still learning the limits of when play-wrestling becomes “too much” for her siblings now that she’s big and strong and I occasionally intervene.
