Great Cats for Great Homes

  Frankie is a cuddly, playful cat who would love to find a forever home of his own! He likes being held on his back like a baby (he'll stay in your arms for hours, purring away!) or sprawling in your lap. He loves flinging around his toys and performing kitty acrobatics, and he's quickly learning that humans can provide excellent entertainment too (he really, really likes feather wands, and any toys that squeak or chirp). Though he meows a little, Frankie isn't a big "talker" but he does have an extraordinarily loud purr, which he uses to initiate "snuggle mode." If he feels he's being ignored Frankie can be a bit assertive; he will politely tap you for attention before flinging himself into your arms! Franklin is an approximately 1.5 year old Domestic Shorthair cat with black and white tuxedo markings. He was being fed with a group of feral and stray cats in Spokane, but when he was attacked by a dog we captured him so he could receive vet care. The rear bone in his foot was cracked, and he also had puncture wounds and an abscess on his foot. He received treatment for his injuries and we attempted to find his owners, but no one came forward to claim him. Now he's all healed and ready to find a permanent home to call his own. Despite his negative dog encounter experience, Frankie doesn't hold a grudge against all dogs. Surprisingly, he genuinely seems to like the three dogs living at his foster home. He'll rub against them, and even initiates play time with them. The corgi in his foster home has a dog agility course tunnel, and Frankie and the corgi love to chase one another back and forth through the tube. Frankie seems like he'd be incredibly content as an only kitty. However, he's currently living with Maya, Ruby and Rosie (these kitties are also seeking their forever homes!) and he gets along very well with them. If his future home has another feline resident he'd do best with a female cat, or a more submissive male cat (we have a rather assertive male cat and they have not managed to work things out). Adapting to the life of an indoor kitty hasn't been a problem for Frankie. He's had excellent litter box manners and is learning to consistently use his scratching post. He tolerates nail trims, and he LOVES bird and squirrel watching from a sunny windowsill. Frankie has been neutered, he is up to date on his vaccines for Rabies and FVRCP, he was tested negative for Feline AIDS and Leukemia and microchipped, and he was treated for fleas and internal parasites.
