Auggie is our last rescue cat to be adopted. Once you get past his obvious good looks, you will see why. Auggie was born outside to a dumped Momma cat. Auggie's needs go way beyond being someone's breed-specific, Maine Coon Mix dream cat. He does very well with older cats as he models their good behavior and is a gentleman with them. Auggie is a door dasher, screen ripper and general wannabe, escape artist. He MUST be an indoor-only cat and this means no doggy doors, no kids going in and out of the house and leaving doors open. It means an adopter(s) who is conscientious about knowing where Auggie is and that he is safe and secure inside the home. As Auggie gets older and attached to his person or people, the door dashing will be less of an issue. Auggie can live to be 20 years old, plan on a secure and stable home for him for those 20 years. Now for the good stuff. He is a lover once he knows you. He will jump off a shelf, tall cat tree or other high place, onto your chest and give hugs. He is very athletic and would love tall cat trees, those shelves that allow a cat to climb inside a home or a catio attached to the house with a secure pass through so he can smell and see the great outdoors, without actually being outdoors. He has the classic chirping of his breed and loves water. If you have a fountain, Auggie will have his paws in it. He comes when called and is very interested in everything we do. He seems to be learning more and more each week we have him and with training, will be a fantastic, large cat. Auggie is already 6 pounds! Auggie is neutered, has had all kitten vaccines, been dewormed, defleaed and micro-chipped. Auggie comes with transition food (grain-free kibble and organic chicken wet food), his toys and blanket. In the beginning, no toys with faux fur or that look like mice. He will try to eat them. Also you will see in the last photo his tail. He is missing 3/4 of an inch. When his fur grows back, no one will know anything happened. Adoption fee is $200.00 to help offset the costs of rescue. Auggie is in a Smoker-Free, Scent-Free, Foster home in Silverton.
