Hello. This is Mona. Mona is an 9 year old kitty who needs a new home that’s a proper fit for her. She has had a bit of an interesting past. Originally from Montana, she was rescued after being an outdoor cat for most of her life. She has lived in Portland since with me, her current owner, and for the past four years I have tried to give her the best life I could. After a lot of reflection and time, I am coming to the realization that I cannot provide the attention she needs and so I am trying to find a new forever home for her. A little about Mona, aka baby Mona. She is a friendly vocal cat who has an attachment style to her people and requires a lot of attention. She would be best in a home with someone who works remotely, is retired or has a family with other members who are home often. In addition, Mona must be the only cat in the home. She does not do well with other cats but she doesn’t mind dogs. She is fixed, and has no current known medical conditions. She does have a bit of a rough past and some abandonment issues so she really needs someone that will be able to make her feel safe and in charge of her space. She doesn’t like cat beds but likes her kitty tower and loves to sleep with her people on their bed. Mona will play with certain toys like feather toys and other string like toys. She loves to lay in the sunshine and roll around on her back. Her favorite treat is lunch meat, preferably fresh sliced turkey. Mona will be your shadow and have your back at all times. She is very sweet and will cuddle and drool when she is happy. She does not like to be held and will let you know with groans and moans. She doesn’t scratch and doesn’t spray or have any sort of big behavioral issues besides some separation anxiety which usually manifests as her being overly vocal. She has been on CBD to calm her anxiety but it is hard to find a good medication or therapy that makes me feel at ease. The real calming agent is having full access to the home and her person. I currently live with roommates and she is unfortunately in my room alone often at this time. She cannot currently roam freely because there is another cat in the house. This is the main reason I am trying to find a better fit for her because I simply cannot provide her the security and attention that she requires. If Mona sounds like a good fit for you then please reach out! I will not be rehoming her until I can find the perfect match and a forever home.
