Mouse is a part of our family & we love her so much. Unfortunately, she isn't happy anymore. She is grieving the loss of her 2 elderly brothers (18 3/4) that were in our home before she arrived. She cared for round the clock. They were deaf and going blind and she literally was their eyes & ears. She would guide them to their food & water, clean them, monitor their health & steer them away from the stairs so they wouldn't fall. When we brought home 2 bonded brothers (littermates) kittens many months after this loss... she can not handle it. We've tried everything. And she doesn't care for our other cat who is 3 or 4 either. I want to find a placement where she can be happier. Mouse is afraid of dogs but is a sweet girl. She is talkative, has a great personality, and is a good cat. She just needs to be in a home without kids (she is scared of them & hides), and needs to be in a home where she doesn't have to share her owners with other cats, especially her Mom. She somehow loves to watch any of the Bachelor shows. We are convinced she recognizes the music from the show (going back & forth to commercials) sometimes when she hears the music and comes running to sit next to me on the couch to watch. Sometimes she will sit near me, next to me touching me, sometimes she'll drape part of herself over me or even sit on my lap. She comes and sits on my lap daily when I'm at the laptop. But don't tease her about watching Bachelor shows... she is bashful about it. haha. She loves mini tennis balls that have the squeak toys inside them. After she warms up to you, she loves to play. She will even let you know when she wants to play. We have a tree she can see from our living room window that we check daily for squirrels that perch up on a small limb. She's very obedient & polite. She learns very fast. She understands the word no. She wants to please you. She likes to say goodbye to you as you leave the house. And loves to greet you when you come home (if she isn't too sleepy). She loves to brush up against you. One of my favorite things is I've never caught her getting into food or on the counters. Yay! It will be hard to let her go because when my Mom passed away in 2020, she would hear me crying way on the other end of the house. She would push the door open and get to me to give me affection. It meant a lot to me. We love her and hope that her new home brings her joy again. We are going to take her to the vet to find out what her current shot status is. I'm sure it's up to date, but it's always good to check. It's tricky with Mouse because she is so healthy that she isn't at the vet very often.
