Great Cats for Great Homes

Hello. Miss Effie is a sweet, beautiful 8-1/2 year old declawed lady who craves a home and family that will spend lots of time with her, and especially allow her to sleep with them (I cannot due to allergies.) Miss Effie had a rough start in life, but she’s come a long way! We took Miss Effie in when she had no place else to go. We have watched her grow in amazing ways, from being a cat that hissed at us and hid, to being a sweet little lady who loves to greet us in the morning and when we come home from work. When she came to us, she didn’t know how to be a “cat." She had no idea how to play and didn’t understand my attempts to play with her. She now knows how to play and has a favorite toy (which I will send with her.) (Watching “The Lucky Ferals” on youtube helped her so much!) She has more work to do related to some fear (I know a bit about her history and will share this with interested parties.) Miss Effie needs someone who “Speaks Cat” and who has a desire to learn her personal language. In her previous life, she wasn't given the attention she deserved in order to learn how cats communicate with their people, but she is very eager to learn and she tries so hard. I understand her now, but someone new may not. She will need a patient person who wants to build a true connection with her. She is full of love and craves to shower her new person / people with love and attention. I spend as much time with Miss Effie as I am able, but she is alone a lot. This is no good for her, and she becomes depressed. She *may* benefit from living with another shy cat (depending on the other cat... Miss Effie was bullied by another cat in her previous home, but she’s very curious about cats that she sees on TV.) She has always been an indoor cat, and she must remain an indoor cat as she was declawed by her previous owner. ☹ I grow "cat grass" for her, which she absolutely loves! She gets depressed on the rare occasion that I drop the ball on making a new batch. I will send along all her familiar cozy things she relies on here to assist with the transition.
