These lovable hunks were born and raised in the same house they lived in for 6 years with their moma (cat). Unfortunately, the owner's circumstances changed and had to move from a rented house in Salem, Oregon, to a 1 bedroom apartment where she was allowed only one pet. These guys were on the verge of being left behind. Luckily were took them into rescue in the nick of time. We first needed to see how they would do in a new environment since they knew only one. They warmed up to their new foster family quickly and easily adapted to their foster home and are settled in well in less than 2 weeks. Their original names we kept; Dorian, (charcoal gray) is an excellent mouser and loves to play chase with his toys, whereas Kitt, (Black), is more laid back and just wants to hang with his hooman getting lots of love. He is quite the "lover boy." They both will respond and come to kissing sounds and know what "be nice", "eat" and outside "means." Both are hefty boys but Kitt especially needs to lose a few pounds and has lost 3 pounds over the summer months with diet and exercise. And we are continuing to work on that but will need to continue this diet regimen and exercise at their new adopted furever home. Dorian is also special needs. He tilts his head due to an injury in his right ear where he burst his eardrum. But Dorian's hearing is unaffected. They are probably best with older children than young (<5yrs) just due to their size alone. But, again they do understand when they need to "be nice" and will respond accordingly but recommend children be supervised around any unknown pets. While they could be adopted separately, we would first like to try to find a home where they could stay together. They are both fixed (neutered) and UTD on their shots: FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) and Rabies, dewormed and come with a Seresto collar (Flea treatment) that should be good until through May, 2022. Asking for a donation of $120 each or $210 for pair for their adoption fee. Please consider adopting these fellows because families that stay together, thrive together, right?
