Great Cats for Great Homes

We found Soom Soom up for adoption almost 5 years ago and instantly fell in love with her. She is shy, sweet, funny, quirky and loving. Soom Soom takes her time to warm up to a new family, but when she does she will greet you at the door demanding pets and follow you around the house to be close to you. Even before fully trusting us she slept with us from the very first night. We don't know much about her first 2 years of life, but we know she came to Portland from California and had already been in 2 homes at that point. When we adopted her we asked how she was around small children, but the shelter didn't know, so we took a chance. Two children later, we've found that she's just unhappy with all the ruckus, noise and mess that children bring into the home. She hasn't done anything bad or malicious towards the children, but her anxiety and unhappiness are apparent. It's important for us that she lives in a place that she's happy and relaxed. She needs a home without children or any other un-caged pets. Although it's possible another cat is OK, with the right personality fit. We also noticed a strong aversion to her being put in the carrier, so we started to have a home visit vet instead of bringing her to an office vet.  Soom Soom has been an inside only cat and her rehoming fee is $50.
