Butters is a stray/abandoned house cat (estimated about 6 years old ) aptly named as he was found in my house when I was gone on vacation (2/2022) having licked a stick of butter from counter that eventually fell to the floor. I put another one out since I couldn't figure it out until I caught him one day. Instantly a funny cat! He has expressive eyes, good teeth and cutest cheeks ever! He loves to fall at your feet for rubs. He was mostly outside w/other feral cats then he came to start sleeping on my patio chairs. He still has those tendencies. He let me pet him almost immediately and since then he found his way back into my house, found the cat door that led to garage where the litter boxes are at. He used the litter boxes right away w/out instruction. He sleeps in there now since he found comfort in an old chair. He loves to be petted but not too long since he's not completely used to it. He flops down when he eats but that's because he had a hind leg injury from getting rolled by another stray. His injury is MUCH better now since i've been giving him a bit of Cosequin every day. He still flops when he enters a room. He plays like a kitten enjoying all the toys, hiding, and running around. He loves cat food, treats, cheese and butter of course. When it's time for food he will wait his turn unless he gets really excited for treat time and then I'll spin him around towards his own dish for treats there. He was easy to transport to FCCO for neutering, flea meds and vaccine shots. Butters wants to know my 2 15yr old cats but they hiss and one swats at him if he's too close. He is very adaptable! He lets me pick him up and when I do he puts his paws on my shoulders and is curious of what's 'up there'. It's only a few minutes and still working on it. When I've had friends over he runs over to their legs for rubs. He loves his head to be scratched and then he'll flip to show his belly. We're still careful with that move! He also allows children (has only been around neighbors 5yr+) to scratch his head. When he hears the roar of any motor (vacuum, mower, loud cars) his head jets around to catch where the noise is coming from and then he relaxes. He loves cat toys! He'll play with a round scratcher we have until it scares him. He'll kick it, sprints away and comes back for more. He's so funny! Great personality! He also understands commands as well. It's really something to see. He has the cutest little trill of a meow so he's mostly quiet. He lets you know when he's around when he swooshes past your legs. He's tail is so pretty and floofy. Butters is need of love and wants the attention. When he was injured he slept mostly on the couch w/my friend who was housesitting. He never left her side due to obvious reasons but he was the same way with me after until my other 2 cats took over again. He does come when I call him to sit on my lap or next to me and has the sweetest looks when we do. He deserves a loving home where he doesn't feel like he's banished and feels safe.    Indoor only.  $50 rehoming fee.
