Great Cats for Great Homes

Chester is such a fun, spunky cat and his marbled tabby coat is just stunning! He is still very much a kitten, so he loves to play (especially with giant toys - he really enjoys our dogs' toys more than his cat sized toys). Once he's tired out he's happy to follow you from room to room and he gets in plenty of snooze time while he's keeping you company. He is not a cat that likes to "do his own thing"; Chester wants to participate in your day with you. His favorite pastime is "helping" you put on shoes every morning, and he is happy to vanquish (ie. kick to death) your shoes once you remove them at night. He is incredibly soft and he has a very loud purr, especially when he's cuddling with you. Chester is minimally chatty - he meows when you first get home, or if his food bowl is running low but he isn't a super talkative cat. We found Chester fending for himself in our neighborhood, and we were unable to reunite him with family. He had some pretty bad bite wounds and a nose injury so we took him to our vet and he's all healed now, so he's ready to find his permanent home. We've had Chester neutered, microchipped, updated his vaccinations, and treated him for fleas and internal parasites. We also had him tested for kitty AIDs and Leukemia (he's negative). Even though Chester has fully healed, due to his injuries when he was fending for himself, Chester does have a couple scars and a rather uniquely shaped, bulbous nose - these just give him more character! Our vet thinks Chester is about 1.5 years old. He has excellent litter box habits, is great for nail trims, and he's learning to only sharpen his claws on cat furniture (this is a work in progress). Chester does have a sensitive stomach and will need to continue eating a high-quality food of he'll have digestive issues. We've found a few different foods that agree with him, and will be happy to provide a list of food options to his new family. Chester has been living comfortably with dogs and other cats. He will not tolerate dogs that aren't respectful of cats, but he is fantastic with our cat savvy dogs. We think Chester would love having a dog or another active cat to play with, but he'd probably be a bit too rambunctious for an older, more sedate cat. Since Chester is very playful and can get a little feisty taking down his prey (giant cat toys & fluffy dog toys are his favorite victims), we think he'd be best in a home without young children.
