Roxy was found by a family living in a temporary trailer on little North Fork in Santiam Canyon while their house was being rebuilt dues to the 2020 Santiam Canyon fires. They had only been feeding the cat about two weeks when it showed up, before they posted the cat as lost. Noone came forward to claim. They inquired with their neighbors, but because of the Santiam Fires it is very isolated area as all the home are being rebuilt and no one has moved back in yet. It is believe this poor girl was a dump in the mountains!!

When first taken into rescue she was acting as a feral but after about 6 weeks she did a 180° and tamed up to be a beautiful sweet and amazingly gentle kitty. It is clear that she was owed at some point, but lost trust in humans for who knows why or how long but now she is incredibly sweet and gentle. She likes to greet you with a tiny meow and a kiss. She also likes to groom you. She likes being near her human, and sleeps next to you in bed. She loves to play with toys or your feet under the covers.

Roxy seems to be fine with female cats; but males, especially bully types, need to stay away as she is not afraid to put them in their place so she would be better off in a female cat only household or as a singleton. It is unknown how she is with dogs or kids but if I were to guess, she probably would attack a dog. Children should be fine as long as they are well trained on how to treat a cat and supervised while playing with her. Giving her sweet gentle spirit and the household she currently is in, she would do best with an older adult and quiet and calm environment.

Roxy was spayed on Dec 21,2022 and also vaccinated with FVRCP and Rabies, and tested for FelV and FIV, both negative. She is also microchipped and flea treated and dewormed. She is available for an adoption fee of $350. Indoor only.
