These adorable babes are litter mates with quite the roller coaster beginnings. Now in rescue, we would like to see them have a warm and stable rest of their lives in a furever home. They have been through a rather unusual owner surrender situation. The owner, a young women in Mill City, was feeding a feral colony around her home. These two, she named Pepsi and Sissy, were feral kittens she was so smitten with that she made them into quite the loving and adoring housecats. Unfortunately, we, the rescue, were in the middle of helping her get them and the colony fixed and vaccinated when she suddenly got evicted and then became homeless. The main trapper, had to quickly take them in, but kenneled them as she has no place for them, while still working on the colony. Consequently, these two packed on the weight while kenneled during this lengthy project. Finally, we found a couple fosters for them who could care for them in their home and help them shed the weight they put on. They are looking good and ready for their new home.
These cats are highly adaptable in no time to new situations, probably due to their past circumstances. Pepsi is the more confident and curious one, Sissy a little shier. They adjust quickly to enjoy the company of other cats and even dogs and have no problem with children, too. In fact, Pepsi is usually the first one to instigate games of chase or roughhousing. Sissy is more reserved and will observe rather than get in the middle of scuffles. Both are big time lovers of people and kids and will follow you around like puppy-dogs. They are very much still like kittens. Both have their favorite spots. Pepsi loves to nap at the top of the cat tree, as long as you give her attention every time you pass by. Whereas Sissy, you will most likely find in a pile of blankets. Pepsi enjoys being center of attention, obviously. But Sissy is very affectionate and will want to be your lap kitty and lay next to you in bed. Both are vary aware and respectful and gentle around their elders. They both would be great with your senior pets. Pepsi's purrometer goes off easily especially if you give her belly rubs, her favorite! Sissy is still a bit overweight and will need someone to encourage her to play but both have made significant improvement over a short time.
We fixed these two sweethearts last May on owner's behalf and at our expense. They got all the bells and whistles including vaccines, testing (which both are negative for FelV & FIV) and also microchipped at Willamette Humane Society. We are asking for a donation of $260 for the bonded pair and that reflects their need for vaccines update in May 2023. We also deliver them to your home. Their medical records will be provided. Indoor only.
