Great Cats for Great Homes

Smokey came to live with my grandmother after her previous elderly owner passed away. She was pretty scared coming to a new home but quickly adjusted. We discovered she likes to play with her toys, loves Friskies Temptations cat treats, and enjoys looking out the window and going outside on her own in the summer to lay in the sun. She doesn't wander far and comes back in when she is ready. She gets spooked by loud noises and is used to living in a quiet home with no other animals or small children.

Smokey is very independent but enjoys laying on your lap, especially if you have a blanket. She likes to be pet, brushed, and have her chin scratched but if you don't pay attention to her body language while doing it, she can get a little frustrated if you do it too much. Overall she is a good kitty, she tries to show affection to my grandma by rubbing against her legs but with my grandma's fall risk, this can be really dangerous. She can be quite vocal if you leave a room she is in, and she likes to follow you to see what you are doing. Sometimes, she just prefers to be alone soaking up the sun or looking out the window. She can also be a goofball rolling around on the floor in contorted poses. Indoor only for her safety. $50 rehoming fee.
