Lyra (Lie-Ruh) was born December 9, 2022. We got her when she was 5 months old from a farm where she was indoor-outdoor. She's only indoor now, and we'd prefer she stay that way. She's fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She's the softest cat I've ever had, with short, fluffy fur (We feed her tiki cat indoor formula, probably partly why!).

She's rather shy of strangers, and hides whenever new people come in, but is fully attached to her people. She loves afternoon naps, laying on our chest. She loves to play, especially wrestle with stuffed animals, chew on cardboard (she needs things available to chew) or chase strings. She does play bite a bit when she plays, and can get over stimulated with too much petting - but her bites never draw blood. She loves scratches on her head and neck. We've gotten to know her body language when enough is enough.

She weaves in and out of our legs. She's unable to jump on counters for some reason - she can't jump high - so that could be a big bonus for you! We had a cat when we brought her in, and unfortunately our current cat never accepted her. Lyra would love to have a friend I believe, she did have friends on her farm when she was a kitten as well as a dog - but I don't know how well she'd adapt to another cat being a little over a year old now but with proper introduction this should work.

She was recently diagnosed with asthma, and we've been giving her oral steroids every 24-28 hours for the last couple months. We've been using wood pellet litter as clay is bad for kitty lungs. Ideally she'd get on an inhaler 2x a day as that has fewer long term side effects for kitties versus the oral steroids. With the proper care she can live a long, healthy and happy life!
