Great Cats for Great Homes

  Meet Chester. He is a sweet, young, cat with lots of energy and love to spare. He just turned 2 years old, is neutered, is negative for both FIV and feline leukemia, and is up to date on all of his shots.

We adopted Chester right off the street 6 months ago. He had belonged to some neighbours who moved away and left him behind. He was nervous around us at first, but eventually jumped on our laps and followed us around when we were outside. We took him to the vet and adopted him as our own. He loves being an indoor cat with regular meals, lots of toys, and comfy places to sleep. He is a litter box champion and does not scratch the furniture or carpet. He loves to play chase with a laser pointer or just watch the birds outside while lounging on the cat tree. Although he is not typically a lap cat, he loves to be petted and will sleep at the foot of your bed. He is also a kisser! He will lick your hands and even your face. He has a beautiful, long, fluffy tail, very soft fur, and “lynx tips" on his ears.

The one and only problem with him is that he DOES NOT get along with other cats. We have another cat that we’ve had for 3 years. We have tried everything the experts recommend to try to get 2 cats to get along, and after 5 months, nothing has worked. We knew this was a possibility when we adopted him, but had decided that the possibility of re-homing him was better than leaving him on the street.

Although Chester is territorial with other cats, he is a sweetheart with people. He will greet you when you come home from work and also greet any guests you may have visiting. We don’t know how he does with children, but imagine that he would do well with children who are old enough to be respectful and handle him gently. He would certainly enjoy children who would want to play with him every day! We have never seen him interact with a dog.

We currently live out of state, but are relocating to the Portland area the 3^rd week in April. We haven’t had any luck finding him a home where we are, but would be more than willing to haul him from out of state if we knew he had a good home waiting for him.
