Great Cats for Great Homes

This adorable cat is almost 2 ½ years old (birthday in June), and is a vibrant, healthy guy.  He has medium hair that is incredibly soft and silky.  His appearance is a little like a maine coon –with small tufts between his toes and on his ears.  He is very good at grooming himself and enjoys being brushed with soft bristle brushes (helps keep his coat shiny as well). 

Not only is he an attractive cat, but he has a fun personality.  He is a great companion pet –he will greet you when you come home (loves belly rubs at that time, so he’ll roll around expectantly), follows you around and likes to be in the same room as the family.  He is not a lap cat, but he will hang out around you and if he thinks he needs attention he’ll stand up on his back legs and put his front paws on your lap to get you to rub his head or scratch his chin; it’s adorable!

He’s very playful and energetic; always up for a game of ‘fetch’ (we’ve been able to teach him how to retrieve a feathered toy when we toss it on the top of his cat condo) and will leap in the air for wand toys (he’s quite the acrobat –loves to flip).  He is vocal when he wants to be involved and will meow back when you talk to him, chirps when he rubs up against your legs, and calls you over if he wants to play or suspects there is an insect somewhere that he needs assistance getting. 

He’s cautious around strangers at first (really shy and sweet), but warms up to his playful personality with encouragement, treats, and/or toys.  We’ve kept him as an indoor cat for safety reasons, but he’s explored the deck and loves looking out the window.

He adapts well to new environments (we’ve moved a few times since having him and he’s always adapted quickly without behavioral issues), he’s not a picky eater (we feed him dry food that is free of soy, wheat or corn ingredients), and he has excellent litter box habits (we use crystal liter, but have switched back and forth between that and clumping liter, and he’s never have problems adapting to either type). 

He’s spent time with his rabbit buddy here and has had encounters with other cats and dogs without being scared.  So, he’d do well in a house with or without other pets (obviously he’d have to be introduced slowly to other pets).

We’d love to keep him, but we are moving to a place that does not accept pets.  Would love to re-home him to someone who can give him daily attention and will enjoy having a furry buddy around. : )
